As the waterproofing of our basement comes to an end it is interesting to see how accurate the original instructions were to the final outcome of the job. During our conversation with the sales representative we had asked several questions which were of concern to us. One of our main concerns was the idea of a three to eight foot trench being dug around the house, especially due to the fact that we had recently planted rose bushes around the house. Being honest, there was some skepticism towards how well everything would be replaced.

As the crew began to dig the trenches it became extremely evident exactly how real this procedure was going to be and therefore my concerns arouse once again. Overall, each member of the crew seemed to be extremely helpful and informative.

My wife and I recently selected your company to waterproof our basement. From the beginning we had a great experience. Your foreman and his crew have taken a nasty, noisy and dirty job and made it more than bearable. First of all, the foreman sat down with me to make sure I understood our contract. Then he explained the steps they would take to complete the job.
All the surfaces the men were walking on were covered with plastic and taped down securely. All furniture and appliances in the basement were shielded from dust with plastic sheets as well.

The first day was quite busy, with some men working outside and some in the basement using a jackhammer. Never did I feel pressured or uncomfortable. There were at least 6 to 8 men working all day and aside from the jackhammer, there was no intrusive noise.

The foreman kept me apprised of all the progress they were making and showed me the various processes used to complete the system.
At the end of the first day, the floors were swept of tracked in mud and things were tidied as much as possible. Outside, displaced soil was neatly placed back into its bed.

This could have felt like a hostile invasion, but the foreman and his crew made it a benign, unobtrusive experience. Ohio State Waterproofing is fortunate to have men of such high caliber in its employ.

The foreman would first knock on our door and ask if we had any questions or concerns, then he would tell us what they would be doing on that day. At least once a day he would again briefly meet with us to keep us abreast of their progress. He would review the upcoming plans, always asking if we had any questions or concerns.

In dealing with the foreman I found him to be both friendly and professional. I was impressed with his facility in handling my concerns and apprehensions. Whenever I did not understand what was being done or why, he patiently re-explained the process until I was comfortable with the process and confident in its success. He is also an excellent representative of Ohio State Waterproofing. His physical appearance is clean and professional, despite working just as hard alongside the rest of the crew. My neighbor even came over at one point seeking advice for problems in his basement, which had previously been waterproofed by another company. We want to commend the entire work performance of the Ohio State Waterproofing Company’s employees that we dealt with. Our initial meeting with their sales representative was a good start. We felt right at ease with how he presented our situation by addressing and assessing our basement’s water and mold problem. My first impression of the company was forged when our salesman visited my home for the free consultation. He was excellent in educating me about what was happening in my basement and the process that Ohio State Waterproofing would go through to ensure a dry basement. His thoroughness and expertise could only be surpassed by that of the crew that did the installation at my home.

The crew was led by Larry. I had been informed by John that the installation would take three or four days, but under Larry's direction, that job was complete in two days! I was truly amazed at the amount of work completed in those days and the excellence that was demonstrated throughout the job. Larry did not hesitate to answer any questions posed. He also walked me through the various phases of the job as the crew worked tirelessly and conscientiously. The crew was certain to clean the premises, both inside and out, upon completion of each day's work. Larry and his crew went above and beyond my expectations. They made this improvement project a pleasant and educational experience.

My goal, initially, was to have a space in which I felt was healthy for my children to reside.I was ecstatic after the first day work because my basement smelled so much better. We wanted to let you know how pleased we are with the waterproofing job that your company performed on our basement in July. I must say that so far, Ohio State Waterproofing has fulfilled its promises to us. Since the job was completed, we have had a number of heavy rain storms and our basement has stayed dry. Its so nice to go down in the basement, during or after the rain, and not worry about the puddles and standing water we used to find. Your system truly does work as advertised.

What can be said for Ohio State Waterproofing that has not already been said?

The Ohio State Waterproofing staff arrived Monday morning and began preparing the house for the constant travel through it by protecting the floors, stairs and walk areas with plastic and foam covering. They also prepared the outside of the house to protect the plants and scrubs surrounding the foundation before they started digging. All areas were cleaned up every night before they left. Any recovering was done every morning to insure that flooring, stairs and walk areas were protected.

The staff performed their work quickly, professionally and courteously to the family members and showed great tolerant of the one overly friendly and one overly protect dog. Since pets are members of the family, all workers should be commended for their patience with them.

The E-Z Breathe Ventilation Unit was installed earlier last month and there was a noticeable difference in the air quality in the basement even before the waterproofing job was started. We are looking forward to utilizing the basement more and feel that this decision to have this work done will improve the health and welfare both upstairs as well as downstairs of our house.
