Ohio State Waterproofing Customer Thank You Letter

To Whom It May Concern:

This week I had Ohio State Waterproofing do the inside and outside work on my home to stop the water leakage in my basement. I want you to know that your crew was prompt and extremely hard working, from the minute they arrived to the minute they left. Watching these boys work made me respect and appreciate, even more, my son in law, who has been in construction since he was young.

Mostly, however, I want to talk to you about Duane, the foreman of this huge undertaking. I am a 64 year old widow who, not only is riddled with arthritis, but had fallen down my basement steps just days prior to the start of my basement repair. I had worried for days about how I was going to move the furniture, etc. away from the walls in my basement, per the contract requirement. Not only was I physically unable to do this because of my arthritis, but I had been badly hurt in my fall down the basement steps (which Duane can verify). So, when the crew arrived on the first day, I immediately told Duane that I was unable to move the basement items. His response was for me not to worry about it, for me just to worry about taking care of myself. He and his men took care of everything. I almost cried.

I don’t know how to put into words, without a five hundred page essay, what a blessing Duane was while he was here. His kindness and thoughtfulness was phenomenal, from his warmth towards my pain in the neck boxer dog, to his concern about the affect that the noise was having on my two cockatiel birds. Duane made this whole basement ordeal, from the water mess to the disruption in my life with all the work being done here, so much easier for me to bear than might have been otherwise. He even brought my trash container back to my garage after the trash man left. The greatest testimony that I can make on Duane’s behalf is to say that I had told him that he had to either marry me or my single daughter, who is a physician, because I wanted him to be a part of my family. I’m sure that he has women all over the state, young and old alike, that have fallen in love with him for his truly caring attitude. Putting it mildly, Duane is worth his weight in gold and I hope to God that his employers are aware of this!

I know this letter sounds a little corny, but Duane make a very emotionally and physically hard situation more than bearable with his warmth and his kindness. I think that he knows that I’m only half kidding about wanting him to marry my daughter so that I can keep him in my family. That in itself, speaks worlds of what kind of person he was while here.

In closing, I would like to say that there is only one thing that I would like to see changed with your company. I think that the company pamphlets should include pictures of the boys in the work crews as well as office people, because those boys are truly the heart and backbone of the company.

Sincerely,
Penny W.
